Ginger Beer: The Recipe of the Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast Soda

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 tbsp. ginger, grated
  • sliced cinnamon
  • 8 sweet peppers
  • 5 cloves
  • Raspberry to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • Ice

Preparation:

  1. In a small pot, boil the water, the ginger and the spices,
  2. after a few minutes, let it cool down.
  3. Finally add more water, raspberry and sugar all to taste.
  4. Serve with ice.
  5. Some people add a little yeast and let it ferment a little, before adding the raspberry and sugar.
